Scandalo
''Scandalo'' ('Scandal') is Gianna Nannini's ninth studio album, and eleventh album overall. Composition Nannini started composing the album during a trip in Japan and China, and developed it between Wuppertal and Milan. Castaldo, Gino. ''Dizionario della canzone italiana''. Curcio Editore. p. 1170. It was recorded at RAK Studios in London, under the co-production of David M. Allen. Nannini explained the title as "Scandal is the only way we have to rebel against certain prepackaged statuses of life that do not correspond in the least to everyday reality." Release The album was released on 27 August 1990, while Nannini was still enjoying international success for "Un'estate italiana". A Scandalo Tour to promote the album, consisting of 44 dates across 12 countries, followed. The eponymous lead single "Scandalo", whose music video was directed by Yello leader Dieter Meier, topped the Italian hit parade. "Un'estate italiana" (), "Un verano italiano" (; both meaning "An Italian summer") or "To Be Number One" is a 1989 song composed by Giorgio Moroder which was used as the official song of the 1990 FIFA World Cup held in Italy, the first to hold such distinction. Andy M Wright (born 1962) is an English musician, producer and songwriter. Since the mid-1980s he has worked as a programmer, keyboard player, session musician, musical arranger, and producer. Career Beginning in the mid-1980s, Wright played and performed in various bands and worked for a keyboard and equipment rental company in London, delivering and setting up instruments and studio gear for recording sessions. He was subsequently employed at Trident Studios, London, over several years. Whilst at Trident he played and programmed keyboards on sessions for many of the major acts of the time.
