Saşa Yunisoğlu
Saşa Yunisoğlu or Sasha Yunisoglu (born 18 December 1985 in Mykolaiv, now Ukraine) is an Azerbaijani former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Club Yunisoğlu started his career with Azerbaijani side MKT-Araz Imishli. He moved to Polish club Dyskobolia, after a match between the two clubs. He made his Ekstraklasa debut against Zagłębie Lubin on 7 October 2007. He was the second Azerbaijani to have played in Ekstraklasa. Dyskobolia finished the 2007–08 Ekstraklasa season in third. On 9 January 2009, he returned to Azerbaijan to join FC Baku. In June 2013, Yunisoğlu signed for Sumgayit. However, two weeks later Yunisoğlu cancelled his contract with the club and signed with Turkish side Denizlispor. In April 2014, Yunisoğlu left Denizlispor, citing unpaid wages. Mykolaiv ( ), also known as Nikolaev ( ) is a List of cities in Ukraine, city and a hromada (municipality) in southern Ukraine. 2009–10 Azerbaijan Cup
The Azerbaijan Cup 2009–10 was the 18th season of the annual cup competition in Azerbaijan. It started on 17 September 2009 with four games of the preliminary round and ended on 22 May 2009 with the Final held at Tofiq Bahramov Stadium in Baku. FK Karabakh were the defending champions. Twenty teams competed in this year's competition. The Azerbaijan Cup () is a major association football competition in Azerbaijan. In its original form, it started in 1936, when Azerbaijan was a republic of the Soviet Union and it was not disputed by Azerbaijani teams in the Soviet league pyramid. Compared to major football competitions in many other countries, the tournament in Azerbaijan attracts considerably less public interest and even the cup final is rarely sold out. Consequently, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan has experimented with the format in order to raise the profile of the cup. 2008–09 Azerbaijan Premier League
The 2008–09 Azerbaijan Premier League is the 17th season of Azerbaijan Premier League, the Azerbaijani professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. Inter Baku were the defending champions, having won the previous season. Teams FK Gänclärbirliyi Sumqayit and ABN Bärdä were relegated after finishing the previous season in 13th and 14th place, respectively. They were replaced by the champions of the two groups in the Azerbaijan First Division, Bakılı Baku and MOIK Baku. On 8 July 2008, FK Masallı withdrew their participation from the league, citing competitional and financial problems as reasons. Ekstraklasa Cup
The Ekstraklasa Cup () was an elimination tournament for Polish football clubs that played in the Polish Ekstraklasa. The Ekstraklasa Cup was the fourth attempt at introducing a League Cup competition in Poland. The first such tournament was a one-off tournament held in 1952 which Wawel Kraków won. Two other tournaments have also been held, the League Cup (1977–1978) and the Polish League Cup (1999–2002), these two tournaments mainly being cancelled due to a lack of interest from fans. A League Cup competition was again tried with the Ekstraklasa Cup in 2006, however this tournament again saw little interest from fans and the cup competition was cancelled in 2009 after the broadcasting rights expired. The Azerbaijan Premier League (), also known as Misli Premyer Liqası for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Azerbaijan and the highest level of the Azerbaijani football league system. It is contested by twelve clubs. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 33 matches each (playing each team in the league three times, twice at home and once away). The 2007–08 Ekstraklasa (also known as Orange Ekstraklasa due to its sponsorship by Orange Polska) started in July 2007 and ended in mid-May 2008. It was run by the Ekstraklasa SA.
