Sayward Forest Canoe Route
The Sayward Forest Canoe Route runs through a series of lakes west of Campbell River. It takes about three to five days to complete the full 48 kilometre circuit. There are 13 portages totally about 7.6 kilometres of portaging. Some of the portages allow for canoes to be wheeled. Campbell River, British Columbia
Campbell River, or Wiwek̓a̱m, is a city in British Columbia on the east coast of Vancouver Island at the south end of Discovery Passage, which lies along the 50th parallel north along the important Inside Passage shipping route. Campbell River has a population (2016 census) of 35,138 and has long been touted as the "salmon capital of the world." Twin Lake is an unincorporated community in Muskegon County of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes. Local government services are provided by Dalton Township. As of the 2000 census, the community population was 1,613. It is the home of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, the YMCA's Camp Pinewood, the Boy Scouts' Gerber Scout Reservation and Owasippe Scout Reservation. Brewster Lake
Brewster Lake is a lake on Vancouver Island northwest of Campbell Lake and north west of the city Campbell River. Brewster lake is a part of a chain of lakes within the Sayward Forest Canoe Route. One of three largest lakes on the route, Brewst paddle with a 0.3 km portage at the most southern tip to Gray Lake and a 2.3 km portage at the most northern shores to Surprise Lake. Brewster is well known for its year round good fishing for cutthroat and rainbow trout and Dolly Varden. Lower Campbell Lake, also known as Campbell Lake, is a reservoir on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The lake is impounded by the Ladore Dam, which was completed in 1958. Resident fish species in the lake include Cutthroat trout, Rainbow trout, Dolly varden, Kokanee salmon, prickly sculpin and threespine stickleback. Geography Lower Campbell Lake is located approximately west of the city of Campbell River. It makes up the southern portion of the Sayward Forest Canoe Route.
