Sayed Hassan Akhlaq
Sayed Hassan Hussaini (known as Sayed Hassan Akhlaq, ) is an Afghan-American philosopher. Life Akhlaq was born in 1976, in Sayghan City, in the province of Bamyan, Afghanistan. He immigrated to Iran when he was four years old. Finishing primary and secondary schools in Mashhad, he started to study classical religious seminaries (in Qum and Mashhad). Afterward he studied Islamic traditional courses and was educated in the field of Islamic Theology and Philosophy in Razavi University of Islamic Sciences. In 2022, Dr. Akhlaq gave a talk at Fairfield University where he shared his personal narrative. His presentation covered his time as a refugee, his approaches to nurturing critical thinking and propelling academic freedom in Afghanistan, and his subsequent exile due to his philosophical and political beliefs and teachings. The Afghanistan Science Academy (ASA) (, ) is the official government agency of Afghanistan that regulates the Pashto and Dari languages spoken in Afghanistan. The Academy was founded in 1978 by Dr. Gul Mohammed Noorzai, a historian, writer, and linguist as a result of the merging of older academic associations. The Academy has more than 300 research fellows, divided into three main groups: social science, natural sciences, and Islamic studies. Dialogue Among Civilizations
Former President of Iran, Iranian president Mohammad Khatami introduced the idea of Dialogue Among Civilizations as a response to Samuel P. Huntington's theory of a Clash of Civilizations.
