A voivodeship ( ; ; plural: ) is the highest-level Administrative divisions of Poland, administrative division of Poland, corresponding to a province in many other countries. The term has been in use since the 14th century and is commonly translated into English as "province". Albigowa
Albigowa is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Łańcut, within Łańcut County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland. It lies on the Sawa river, approximately south of Łańcut and east of the regional capital Rzeszów. In 2004 the village had a population of 2,900. Jewish history Between 1942 and 1943, German troops murdered 62 people of Jewish origin in at least nine executions. In one of them, which happened in autumn 1943, 25 Jews were shot to death. Łańcut
Łańcut (, ; ; ) is a town in south-eastern Poland, with 18,004 inhabitants, as of 2 June 2009. Situated in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (since 1999), it is the Capital (political), capital of Łańcut County. History Archeological investigations carried out in the region of Łańcut confirm the existence of human settlements from about 4000 years B.C. The first owner of the town was Otton (''z Pilczy'') Pilecki, who was given the Łańcut estate by the List of Polish monarchs, Polish king, Casimir III the Great, in 1349, as a reward for his service. At the same time, the king also granted Łańcut its Town privileges, city rights according to Magdeburg rights, Magdeburg law. In 1381 Łańcut was officially named a ‘town’ for the first time, by Otton Pilecki, in the foundation charter of the town. Łańcut remained under the ownership of the Pilecki family up to 1586. Dynów Foothills
Dynów () (, , ) is a small town in Rzeszów County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland, with a population of 6,058 (02.06.2009). History Dynów was first mentioned in written sources in 1423. At that time, together with other villages, it belonged to the noble Kmita family from Lesser Poland. In 1409, after the death of Voivode of Kraków, Piotr Kmita, the village was handed to his son, Piotr Lunak, who died in 1430. Dynów was granted town charter probably before 1429. In 1448, it became seat of a Roman Catholic parish, but remained a small town, located in the Ruthenian Voivodeship (part of Red Ruthenia) of the Kingdom of Poland (1385–1569), Kingdom of Poland. In March 1657, Dynów was captured by Transilvanian army of George II Rakoczi, which burned the town, together with its churches and castle.
