Savage Mark II
The Savage Mark II is a line of bolt-action rimfire rifles made by Savage Arms that are mainly intended for target practice, small game hunting, and recreational shooting. History Established in Lakefield, Ontario, in 1969, Lakefield Arms gained recognition for manufacturing rifles, especially the Lakefield Model 64 and Mark II. In 1995, Savage Arms acquired Lakefield Arms, including its designs and manufacturing capabilities. This acquisition allowed Savage to incorporate established rimfire designs into its product lineup. The Lakefield Mark II rifles continued to be manufactured under Savage's name. Plinking is informal target shooting done for leisure, typically at non-standard targets such as tin cans, logs, bottles, balloons, fruits or any other man-made or naturally occurring objects. The term is an onomatopoeia of the sharp, ringing sound (or "plink") that a projectile makes when hitting a metallic target such as a tin can or a road sign plate. Practice In contrast to shooting done at established target ranges, plinking is generally done at home in one's backyard, in an open field, or on other private land, the owner of which does not demand entrance fees. Bolt action is a type of manual firearm action that is operated by ''directly'' manipulating the turn-bolt via a bolt handle, most commonly placed on the right-hand side of the firearm (as most users are right-handed). The Ruger 10/22 is a series of semi-automatic rifles produced by American firearm manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Co., chambered for the .22 Long Rifle rimfire cartridge. Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting
On December 14, 2012, a mass shooting occurred at Newtown Public Schools, Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, United States. The perpetrator, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, shot and killed 26 people. The victims were 20 children between six and seven years old, and 6 adult staff members. Earlier that day, before driving to the school, Lanza fatally shot his mother at their Newtown home. As first responders arrived at the school, Lanza killed himself with a gunshot to the head. Accurizing is the process of improving the accuracy and precision of a gun (firearm or airgun). For shooting sport, accuracy is the gun's ability to hit exactly what the shooter is aiming at, and precision is the ability to hit the same place over and over again in a repeatable fashion.
