Saul Green
Saul Green is the former deputy mayor of Detroit, Michigan. He was appointed the position by former mayor, Ken Cockrel, Jr. and was retained as deputy mayor by the next mayor, Dave Bing. Green is an attorney who oversaw both the Detroit Police and Law Department. A Detroit native and 1965 graduate of Mackenzie High School, Green later graduated from the University of Michigan as well as from its law school. He served as US Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan (1994–2001). Dave Bing
David Bing (born November 24, 1943) is an American former professional basketball player, businessman, and politician who served as the 74th mayor of Detroit, Michigan from 2009 to 2013. He is a member of the Democratic Party. After starring at Syracuse University, Bing played 12 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a point guard for the Detroit Pistons (1966–1975), Washington Bullets (1975–1977), and Boston Celtics (1977–78). During his career, he averaged over 20 points and six assists per game and made seven NBA All-Star Game appearances, winning the game's Most Valuable Player award in 1976. The Pistons celebrated his career accomplishments with the retirement of his #21 jersey. Mackenzie High School (Michigan)
Mackenzie High School was a public high school in Detroit, Michigan. History Located on Detroit's west side, Mackenzie High School was named to honor David D. Mackenzie, who had served as principal of Central High School, and as first dean of the city college that would become Wayne State University. Mackenzie High School was among the first schools constructed on land acquired through Detroit's westernmost annexation efforts in Greenfield Township; by 1926 the township had ceased to exist. Adorned in blue and yellow tile from the Pewabic Pottery Works, the three-story facility opened in September 1928. In an effort to make efficient use of available classrooms, the school's early history featured a full range of grade levels – elementary through secondary. The school was demolished in June of 2012.
