"Sasuke" is a song by American rapper Lil Uzi Vert. It was released on April 24, 2020 and serves as the lead single of their upcoming third studio album. It peaked at number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The track's title is a reference to the ''Naruto'' character Sasuke Uchiha, Sasuke, which Uzi also references multiple times in the track. The track is their first single as a lead artist since the release of his album ''Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World 2'', which was released on March 13, 2020, and is the deluxe edition of their second studio album ''Eternal Atake'', which was released a week earlier. Critical reception The track received mixed-to-negative reviews. Symere Bysil Woods ( ; born July 31, 1995), known professionally as Lil Uzi Vert, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. They are characterized by their facial tattoos, facial piercings, eccentric hairstyles and androgynous fashion, imagery built on a melodic emo approach to trap. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lil Uzi Vert gained initial recognition following the release of the commercial mixtape '' Luv Is Rage'' (2015), which led to a recording contract with Atlantic Records, to whom they signed under DJ Drama's Generation Now imprint. Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. It utilizes very few instruments and focuses almost exclusively on snare drums and double- or triple-timed hi-hats.
