Gran Sasso D'Italia
Gran Sasso d'Italia (; ) is a massif in the Apennine Mountains of Italy. Its highest peak, Corno Grande (2,912 metres), is the highest mountain in the Apennines, and the second-highest mountain in Italy outside the Alps. The mountain lies within Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. Geography The three main summits of the Gran Sasso are Corno Grande, which at is the highest peak in the Apennines, nearby ''Corno Piccolo'', and ''Pizzo d'Intermesoli'', which is separated from the other two peaks by Val Maone, a deep valley. Corno Grande and Corno Piccolo's ash coloration come from their limestone and dolomite composition. The peaks are snow-covered for much of the year though the snow cover appears to be less each decade. Corno Piccolo is referred to as, "The Sleeping Giant". Vincent Julien Sasso (born 16 February 1991) is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Primeira Liga club Boavista. Club career Sasso was born in Saint-Cloud, Paris. On 18 June 2008, he signed his first professional contract with FC Nantes. He made his professional debut on 31 July 2010 in a 4–2 penalty shootout away loss against US Boulogne in the first round of the Coupe de la Ligue, and went on to spend two seasons with the first team in Ligue 2, contributing 20 games to a 13th place in 2010–11. Sandy Eisenberg Sasso is the first woman to have been ordained a rabbi in Reconstructionist Judaism. She was ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia, on May 19, 1974. John Sasso is an American Democratic political operative who ran the 1988 election bid by Michael Dukakis. Life and career Sasso was born in New Jersey. Initially a teacher, he began his political career as an organizer for Congressman Gerry Studds, and gained note as an organizer for Ted Kennedy in the 1980 Iowa primaries. Having worked on Michael Dukakis's 1982 campaign for Massachusetts Governor, Sasso served as his Chief of Staff from 1983 to 1987; Dukakis then appointed him as campaign manager for his presidential bid, after Sasso persuaded the governor that he could win nationally.
