Sasse (musician)
Sasse is the stage name used by Finnish electronic music producer and engineer Klas Henrik Lindblad. Based out of Berlin, Germany since 1999, Lindblad runs the Blackhead Studios mixing and mastering studio, and has also recorded under the monikers Freestyle Man, Cocamoto Exclusivo, Morris Brown, Sassomatic, Thirsty Monk and Winston Fletcher. He was also a member of electronic act Mr. Negative. Sasse's base-genre falls into the Deep House and IDM category but also incorporates the styles of house music, electro, techno, Giorgio Moroder-influenced disco and Italo disco. After several singles released as a remixer (many on his own Moodmusic record label), Sasse released his debut full-length album ''Made Within the Upper Stairs of Heaven'' in May 2006. A remix, also sometimes called reorchestration or rework, is a piece of media which has been altered or contorted from its original state by adding, removing, or changing pieces of the item. A record producer or music producer is a music creating project's overall supervisor whose responsibilities can involve a range of creative and technical leadership roles. Typically the job involves hands-on oversight of recording sessions; ensuring artists deliver acceptable and quality performances, supervising the technical engineering of the recording, and coordinating the production team and process. ''Out of the Woods'' is the second solo album by Tracey Thorn. It was released on 5 March 2007 on Virgin Records. The album charted on the ''Billboard'' 200, peaking at number 172 on 7 April 2007. The majority of the album's production was by Ewan Pearson who also produced the first single, " It's All True". Other collaborators included Cagedbaby, Charles Webster, Klas Lindblad, Martin Wheeler and Alex Santos. Background ''Out of the Woods'' marked Thorn's return to the music scene as a solo artist after nearly eight years. It was released on 20 March 2007 in the U.S. on Astralwerks. Tracey Thorn
Tracey Thorn (born 26 September 1962) is an English singer, songwriter, and author. She is best known as a member of the duo Everything but the Girl, active from 1982 to 2000, and again from 2022. She was in the band Marine Girls from 1980 to 1983. Since 2007 she has performed as a solo artist, and as a writer of books and essays. Early life The youngest of three children, Thorn was born in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire. She grew up in nearby Hatfield and studied English at the University of Hull, where she graduated in 1984 with First Class Honours. She later took an MA degree at Birkbeck, University of London. Italo Disco
Italo disco (variously capitalized, and sometimes hyphenated as Italo-disco) is a music genre which originated in Italy in the late 1970s and was mainly produced in the 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current underground dance, pop, and electronic music, both domestic and foreign (hi-NRG, Euro disco) and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs electronic drums, drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders. It is usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent in Italian and Spanish.
