Sarıyer
Sarıyer () is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Istanbul Province, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 177 km2 and its population is 350,454 (2022). It is on the northeastern part of Istanbul's European side. Sarıyer also administers the Black Sea coast to the west of the mouth of the Bosporus, Bosphorus, including the neighbourhood of Kilyos. It borders Eyüpsultan to the northwest, Beşiktaş to the south and Kağıthane to the west. The mayor is Mustafa Oktay Aksu of the Republican People's Party (CHP). Büyükdere, Sarıyer
Büyükdere is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 8,586 (2022). It is situated on the European shore of the Bosphorus strait about southwest of Sarıyer. Its name means 'big stream' in Turkish, in reference to the river that used to flow into the Bosphorus here. A major road, Büyükdere Avenue, starts south of Büyükdere, and runs inland as far as Şişli. In the 19th century Büyükdere, like neighbouring Tarabya, was a popular summer retreat for members of Istanbul's foreign and diplomatic community and it still has several churches and embassy buildings dating back to that period. There was then a Büyükdere ferry terminal but although it has been restored it has not been put back into use (partly because of the road that was built in front of it on reclaimed land), meaning that most access to the neighbourhood is by bus along the coast road. Emirgan
Emirgan is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 8,052 (2024). It is a leafy, middle-class suburb of Istanbul, on the western shore of the Bosphorus north of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (Second Bosphorus Bridge). City bus lines 22, 22RE, 25E, 40T and 42T stop in Emirgan. Infrequent Şehir Hatları ferries connect Emirgan with Eminönü, Beşiktaş, Arnavutköy, Bebek, İstinye, Büyükdere, Sarıyer and Rumeli Kavağı. A separate ferry service links it to Çengelköy, Kandilli, Anadolu Hisarı and Kanlıca. Small private boats also travel back and forth between Emirgan and Kanlıca depending on demand. Rumelihisarı is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 10,073 (2022). It is on the European side of Istanbul. Rumelifeneri (named after the lighthouse Rumeli Feneri) is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 4,337 (2022). Kireçburnu, Sarıyer
Kireçburnu is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 6,888 (2022). It is located on the northern shore of Bosphorus at European side. It is to the north of İstanbul centre with a distance over . Maslak
Maslak is a neighbourhood in Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, in Turkey. Its population is 12,260 (2022). It is one of the main business districts of Istanbul, located on the European side of the city. It was formerly an exclave of the municipality of Şişli, though being far north and actually closer to the municipalities of Sarıyer and Beşiktaş. Rumelihisarı (also known as Rumelian Fortress and Roumeli Hissar Fortress) or Boğazkesen Fortress (literally 'strait-cutter fortress') is a medieval Ottoman Empire, Ottoman fortress located in Istanbul, Turkey, on a series of hills on the European banks of the Bosphorus. The fortress also lends its name to the Rumelihisarı, Sarıyer, immediate neighborhood around it in the city's Sarıyer district. Fatih Sultan Mehmet is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 15,725 (2022). It lies next to the TEM highway. The parts of the neighborhood close to the TEM are called Büyük Armutlu, and the parts farther away are called Küçük Armutlu.
