Sartigan Railway
The Sartigan Railway (french: Chemin de fer Sartigan) is a short-line railway operating on the Quebec Central Railway line, owned by the Ministry of Transportation of Quebec, between Lévis and Vallée-Jonction since 2008. It connects with the Canadian National (CN) at its Joffre Yard situated in Charny. The railway previously operated as a tourist train beginning in 1993, and ended operations in 2005. Vallée-Jonction
Vallée-Jonction is a municipality in the La Nouvelle-Beauce Regional County Municipality, Municipalité régionale de comté de la Nouvelle-Beauce in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population is 1,864 as of 2021. In 1881, the Lévis and Kennebec Railway opened a train station between Sainte-Marie, Quebec, Sainte-Marie and Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, Quebec, Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce named Beauce-Jonction. When the Quebec Central Railway bought it in 1882, Beauce-Jonction became one of the most important train stations on the Lévis, Quebec, Lévis-Sherbrooke line. In 1900, the parish of L'Enfant-Jésus was constituted, and part of its territory was detached in 1924 to form a village of the same name, but known locally as Beauce-Junction, after the post office opened in 1883. Scott, Quebec
Scott is a municipality in the Municipalité régionale de comté de la Nouvelle-Beauce in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population is 2,566 as of 2021. History The origin of the Municipality of Scott dates back to 1897 with the foundation of the parish municipality of Saint-Maxime. This municipality was formed from sections of the neighbouring municipalities of Saint-Bernard, Saint-Isidore-de-Lauzon and Sainte-Marie-de-la-Nouvelle-Beauce. In 1933, Saint-Maxime was splitted in two with the foundation of the municipality of Taschereau-Fortier around the more rural sections of the municipality while Saint-Maxime only kept the more urbanized village. Quebec Central Railway
The Quebec Central Railway was a railway in the Canadian province of Quebec, that served the Eastern Townships region south of the St. Lawrence River. Its headquarters was in Sherbrooke. It was originally incorporated in 1869 as the Sherbrooke, Eastern Townships and Kennebec Railway, and changed its name to the Quebec Central Railway in 1875. In 1894, it built a line southward to Mégantic to connect to Canadian Pacific Railway's east-west line, the International Railway of Maine. It would eventually own around of track. Lévis, Quebec
Lévis () is a city in eastern Quebec, Canada, located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Quebec City. A ferry links Old Quebec with Old Lévis, and two bridges, the Quebec and the Pierre-Laporte, connect western Lévis with Quebec City. The population in July 2017 was 144,147. Charny is a district (''secteur'') within the Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Est borough of the city of Lévis, Quebec. It is located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, south of Quebec City. Formerly an independent city, Charny was merged with Lévis on January 1, 2002. Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, Quebec
Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon is a municipality in La Nouvelle-Beauce Regional County Municipality in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population is 6,177 as of the Canada 2011 Census. Prior to June 22, 2013 it was a parish municipality. It is named after Pierre Lambert, a land surveyor who planned neighbouring Lévis.
