Sara Studebaker
Sara Studebaker-Hall (born October 7, 1984) is a retired biathlete from the United States who competed on the World Cup circuit from 2009 to 2014. Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, she has had multiple top 20 results and her best World Cup finishes are 14th in the sprint event at Presque Isle, Maine in February 2011 and 15th in the sprint at Kontiolahti, Finland in February 2012. She placed 17th in the individual race at the 2011 World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. She was ranked 34th in the World Cup in the 2010–11 season and 55th for 2011–12. Studebaker, a member of the 2010 Winter Olympic team, placed 34th in the 15 km individual at Whistler Olympic Park, Canada. She has been a member of the U.S. Biathlon Team since 2007, after her graduation from Dartmouth College, where she captained the NCAA champion cross country ski team. Biathlon
The biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. The International Biathlon Union (IBU; german: Internationale Biathlon-Union) is the international governing body of biathlon. Its headquarters were in Salzburg, Austria, until May 2020, when the Federation moved to Anif, on the outskirts of the city. It was rocked by a corruption scandal that broke in 2018, concerning the Russians bribing its top two officials. Bogus Basin
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a ski area in Boise County, Idaho, north-northeast of the city of Boise. Bogus is operated by the Bogus Basin Recreation Association, a non-profit organization, on private and leased land in the Boise National Forest. Ski season generally runs from Thanksgiving weekend until the weekend preceding April 15, depending on snow conditions. The area also has cross-country skiing on of Nordic trails. History The area probably got its name during the 19th-century gold rush. Crooks in the hills above Boise City, known as "spelterers", would make bogus gold dust by heating lead filings with a bit of real gold dust. Boise High School is a public secondary school in Boise, Idaho, one of five traditional high schools within the city limits, four of which are in the Boise School District. A three-year comprehensive high school, Boise High is located on the outlying edge of the city's downtown business core. The enrollment for the 2014–15 school year was approximately 1,481.
