Sapteshwar Nath Mahadev Mandir
Sapteshwar Nath Mahadev Mandir (Sanskrit: सप्तेश्वर नाथ महादेव मंदिर), also known as Mithileshwarnath Mahadev Mandir, is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva in the Mithila region of the Indian Subcontinent. It is located at Satoshar Sthan in the Dhanusha district of the Madhesh Pradesh province in the plains of the Terai region in the Himalayan nation of Nepal. This temple is one of the fifteen locations in the famous Mithila Madhya Parikrama. Etymology The name ''Sapteshwar'' is a Sanskrit word derived from Saptarshi in Hinduism. The temple is attributed to the Saptarshi sages. It is believed that the Saptarshi sages had performed their ''Tapasya'' at the location of the campus of the temple. Saptarshi
The Saptarshi ( ) are the seven seers of ancient India who are extolled in the Vedas, and other Hindu literature such as the Skanda Purana. The Vedic Samhitas never enumerate these rishis by name, although later Vedic texts such as the Brahmanas and Upanisads do, so these constellations are easily recognizable. Chhireshwarnath (Nepali language, Nepali: छिरेश्वरनाथ) is a municipality in the Dhanusa District of Madhesh Province of Nepal.
