Santosh Pawar
Santosh Padmakar Pawar (born 1972) is an Indian poet, musician, actor, dramatist, theatre director and script writer in Marathi language. He is best known for his long poem "Bhramisthacha Jahirnama" from 2005, and for his 2010 play ''Yadaa Kadachit''. Biography Santosh Pawar is a teacher and lecturer in Marathi literature. He served as a lecturer in Annasaheb Awate Arts, Commerce & Hutatma Babu Genu Science College. Works Pawar's poems have been included in several anthologies, and are also included in the curriculum of several Indian universities. His comedy drama ''Yadaa Kadachit'', based on stories from the ''Ramayana'' and the ''Mahabharata'' was critically acclaimed. The play was the target of heavy criticism from religious fundamentalist groups who saw it as disrespectful, and who threatened the playwright and the actors, creating violent disturbances during several performances. Marathi (; ''Marāṭhī'', ) is an Indo-Aryan language predominantly spoken by Marathi people in the Indian state of Maharashtra. ''Thalaivii'' () is a 2021 Indian biographical drama film based on the life of Indian actress-politician J. Jayalalithaa. The film stars Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalithaa, Arvind Swamy as M. G. Ramachandran. And Raj Arjun as R. M. Veerappan. Shot simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi, it is directed by A. L. Vijay and written by Madhan Karky (Tamil) and Rajat Arora (Hindi). Marathi literature is the body of literature of Marathi, an Indo-Aryan language spoken mainly in the Indian state of Maharashtra and written in the Devanagari and Modi script. History Ancient Era Maharashtri Prakrit was the southern Prakrit that was spoken in the banks of Narmada and Godavari. Maharashtri was an offshoot of Vedic Sanskrit. The earliest example of Maharashtri as a separate language dates to approximately 3rd century BCE: a stone inscription found in a cave at Naneghat, Junnar in Pune district had been written in Maharashtri using Brahmi script. ''Queen'' is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Madhu Mantena. ''Om Shanti Om'' (transl. ''Peace Be With You'') is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language fantasy romance film written and directed by Farah Khan, co-written by Mayur Puri and Mushtaq Shiekh, and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.
