Basilica Cathedral Of Santa María La Menor
The Cathedral of Santa María la Menor in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo is dedicated to St. Mary of the Incarnation. It is the oldest existing cathedral in the Americas, begun in 1504 and was completed in 1550, and the second constructed, after the Garðar Cathedral Ruins in Greenland. It is the cathedral of the Archbishop of Santo Domingo who has the honorary title of ''Primate of the Indies'' because this cathedral was the first diocese and the oldest cathedral established in the New World in the post-Columbus era. The cathedral is fronted with a golden-tinted coral limestone façade. The building is Gothic, a notable example of real Gothic architecture outside Europe. There is also a treasury which has an excellent art collection of ancient woodcarvings, furnishings, funerary monuments, silver, and jewelry. Cobán Cathedral
The St. Dominic Cathedral ( ) also called Cobán Cathedral is a religious building that is affiliated with the Catholic Church and is located in the town and municipality of Cobán in Alta Verapaz Department, Alta Verapaz department of the Central American country of Guatemala. The church is one of the oldest structures in the region which dates back to 1543 when it was built by Fray Melchor de Los Reyes being rebuilt later in 1741 and 1799. It was built next to a convent that was built in 1551. The temple follows the Roman or Latin rite and is the mother of the Diocese of Verapaz (''Dioecesis Verae Pacis'') which was created in 1935 by Pope Pius XI by the Bull "quoties in regionibus". The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, commonly known as Santo Domingo de Guzman Parish Church and Basco Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral church located in Basco, Northern Batan Island, Batanes, Philippines. Because Batanes was named in religious records at the time of its establishment, the first church was dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Patroness of Batanes Prelature.Casas, Brigido, Fr..
