''Santessoniella'' is a genus of lichenized fungi in the family Pannariaceae. The classification reflects various changes made based on the Systema Ascomycetum and Myconet in the Deep Hypha issue of Mycologia. The genus was circumscription (taxonomy), circumscribed by Aino Marjatta Henssen in Acta Univ. Upsal., Symb. Bot. Upsal. vol.32 (1) on page 76 in 1997. ''Rockefellera'' is a fungal genus in the family Pannariaceae. It is a monotypic genus, containing the single species ''Rockefellera crossophylla''. The genus was circumscribed by James Lendemer and Erin Tripp in 2017. The generic name honors the Rockefeller family, "for their century-long support of North American conservation efforts, particularly with respect to national parks." Rolf Santesson
Rolf Santesson (1916–2013) was a Swedish lichenologist and university lecturer. He was awarded the Acharius Medal in 1992 for his lifetime contributions to lichenology. Early life and education Santesson was born in 1916 in Trollhättan, Sweden. He was already collecting lichens as a student, investigating the lichen flora of the table mountains of Halleberg and Hunneberg near his home. He entered the University of Uppsala in the 1930s to study botany. It was here he met the flamboyant Professor of Plant Ecology and lichen taxonomist Gustaf Einar Du Rietz, with whom he undertook studies on crustose lichens found on shoreline rocks of Swedish lakes. This work led to a lifelong interest in marine lichens. He earned a B.Sc. in 1938, followed by an M.Sc. in 1939. Peltigerales
Peltigerales is an order of lichen-forming fungi belonging to the class Lecanoromycetes in the division Ascomycota. The taxonomy of the group has seen numerous changes; it was formerly often treated as a suborder of the order Lecanorales. It contains two suborders, eight families and about 45 genera such as '' Lobaria'' and '' Peltigera''.
