Santera Tequila
Santera Tequila is a brand of tequila made from blue agave which is produced and bottled in Jalisco, Mexico. The agave for Santera Tequila is grown in the volcanic soil of the dormant Volcán de Tequila. It is created by distiller Sebastian Melendrez. The tequila is made with highland agave containing 21 degrees brix (sugar content) and the pinas are roasted for up to 54 hours in hornos (brick ovens). ''Agave tequilana'', commonly called blue agave () or tequila agave, is an agave plant that is an important economic product of Jalisco, Mexico, due to its role as the base ingredient of tequila, a popular distilled beverage. The high production of sugars named agavins, mostly fructose, in the core of the plant is the main characteristic that makes it suitable for the preparation of alcoholic beverages.
