Santaquin ( ) is a city in Utah and Juab counties in the U.S. state of Utah. It is part of the Provo–Orem metropolitan area. The population was 13,725 at the 2020 census. Geography Santaquin lies southeast of Utah Lake in southern Utah County, with a small portion extending south into Juab County. It is bordered to the northwest by Genola and to the north by unincorporated Spring Lake. Interstate 15 passes through the city, with access from Exits 242 and 244. I-15 leads north to Provo and south to Nephi. U.S. Route 6 passes through Santaquin as Main Street and leads west to Silver City. Utah State Route 198 leads north from I-15 to Payson. State Route 198 is a highway completely within Utah County in northern Utah that connects Santaquin to Spanish Fork via Payson and Salem. The route runs . The entire length of the route is an old routing of US-6 and US-50; a portion of the route was also US-91. These routes were re-aligned or truncated after the Interstate Highway System was constructed through this part of Utah. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 3.10%, is water. The town is located in the northeast Goshen Valley; Santaquin is adjacent to the southeast. The former area of Townsend is located within the southeast area of Genola. Spring Lake, Utah
Spring Lake is a town in southern Utah County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Provo–Orem Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 528 at the 2020 census. It is located just south of Payson and northeast of Santaquin. Description Much of Spring Lake consists of farms and ranches, with many people owning horses, cattle, and raising alfalfa and hay for their animals. Being located between Payson and Santaquin, the rural area may give way to more homes in the coming years, but as there is no city water for many, wells are needed which place a limit of one house per of land. Payson is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Provo– Orem Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 21,101 at the 2020 census. History Pioneers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints led by James Edward Pace Jr. first settled what is now Payson, Utah. On Sunday, October 20, 1850, Pace with his family and the families of John Courtland Searle and Andrew Jackson Stewart, totaling 16 settlers in all, arrived at their destination on Peteetneet Creek.
