Sant Llorenç Del Munt
Sant Llorenç del Munt is a largely rocky mountain massif in central Catalonia, Spain. The highest summit, where the Monestir de Sant Llorenç del Munt is located, has an elevation of above sea level and is known as ''La Mola''. Montcau is another important peak of the massif. On the massif, there is a protected area under the name ''Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac''. Bages () is a comarca (county) in the center of Catalonia, Spain. It includes a ''subcomarca'', Lluçanès. Vallès Occidental () is a comarca (county) in Catalonia, Spain. Sabadell and Terrassa are the comarcal capitals. Along with Vallès Oriental it forms the grand comarca of Vallès, and is part of the Barcelona metropolitan area. Physical geography Vallès Occidental borders the comarques of Bages (to the north), Vallès Oriental (to the north and east), Baix Llobregat (to the west), and Barcelonès (to the south). It centers on the Catalan prelittoral depression, limited to the west by the River Llobregat and to the east by the River Caldes. The northern part of the comarca is mountainous. The Catalan Pre-Coastal Range ( ca, Serralada Prelitoral Catalana) is a system of mountain ranges running parallel to the Mediterranean Sea coast in Catalonia. It is part of the Catalan Mediterranean System. Its main axis runs between the Catalan Transversal Range and the Serra de l'Espina, which connects with the Ports de Tortosa-Beseit, part of the Iberian System. Conglomerate (geology)
Conglomerate () is a clastic sedimentary rock that is composed of a substantial fraction of rounded to subangular gravel-size clasts. A conglomerate typically contains a matrix of finer-grained sediments, such as sand, silt, or clay, which fills the interstices between the clasts. The clasts and matrix are typically cemented by calcium carbonate, iron oxide, silica, or hardened clay. Conglomerates form by the consolidation and lithification of gravel. They can be found in sedimentary rock sequences of all ages but probably make up less than 1 percent by weight of all sedimentary rocks. Sant Cugat del Vallès (; es, San Cugat del Vallés, link=no) is a town and municipality north of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Monestir De Sant Llorenç Del Munt
Sant Llorenç del Munt is a Benedictine monastery in Matadepera, Vallès Occidental, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on top of La Mola, the summit of the rocky mountain massif, Sant Llorenç del Munt, within Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac. It was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural landmark in 1931. History The first record that indicates there was a religious community here governed by an abbot corresponds to the year 986. In 1014, the word monastery appeared in a document associated with Count Ramon Borrell and his wife regarding a land swap with the abbey of San Llorenç. There is mention in 1018 regarding an abbot at Sant Llorenç del Munt. During this time period, the area was invaded several times by the Saracens, but there is no record of any attacks against buildings that were in the top of Sant Llorenç del Munt. Protected areas or conservation areas are locations which receive protection because of their recognized natural, ecological or cultural values.
