Saint Cucuphas
Saint Cucuphas (also ''Cucufas'' or ''Qaqophas'', , , , , , ) is a martyr of Spain. His feast day is 25 July but in some areas it is celebrated on 27 July to avoid conflict with the important feast day of Santiago, the patron saint of Spain. His name is said to be of Phoenician origin with the meaning of "he who jokes, he who likes to joke." Life Cucuphas was born into a noble Christian family in Scillis (Africa Proconsularis). He and Saint Felix, later martyred at Girona, were said to have been deacons of the Catholic Church in Carthage who arrived at Barcelona to evangelize the area. According to his legend, he functioned as a merchant in Barcelona while preaching the Christian faith, baptizing converts, and aiding the Christian community there. According to Christian accounts of his life, he was generous with the poor and a worker of miracles. He was martyred near Barcelona during the persecution of Diocletian. Sant Cugat del Vallès () is a town and municipality north of Barcelona, Catalonia. Known as ''Castrum Octavianum'' in antiquity (which means ''the castle of Octavianus'') and as ''Pins del Vallès'' during the Second Spanish Republic, it is named after Saint Cucuphas, who is said to have been martyred on the spot now occupied by its medieval monastery. The final part of its toponym, ''del Vallès'', is a reference to the historical county where the town is situated, Vallès. Sant Cugat Museum
The Sant Cugat Museum (, ) was opened on 23 April 2003; its mission was to oversee the conservation and dissemination of the historic, artistic and cultural heritage of Sant Cugat del Vallès in Catalonia. It is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network and has two centres: the Monastery of Sant Cugat, Sant Cugat Monastery and Casa Aymat plus two other buildings, the Celler Modernista and the Chapel of Sant Domenec. In both areas there are spaces reserved for temporary exhibitions related to art, history and local and universal heritage. In addition, the Museum works to recover the heritage and memory of the town, periodically organising walks that help people discover local history and heritage. Sant Cugat (Barcelona–Vallès Line)
Sant Cugat is a railway station in Sant Cugat del Vallès in Catalonia, Spain. It is served by lines S1, S2, S5, S6, and S7 of the Metro del Vallès commuter rail system, which are operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), who also runs the station. Sant Cugat is the last station before the Metro del Vallès branches to Terrassa (lines S1 and S5) and Sabadell (lines S2 and S55) split and take different routes. Sant Cugat is also the outer terminus of some trains on line S5. The station is in fare zone 2C of the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità fare system.
