''Sangen til livet'' (The Song of Life) is a Norwegian film from 1943 based on Johan Bojer's play ''Sigurd Braa''. It was directed by Leif Sinding. The film premiered on October 25, 1943. Plot The film is a melodrama about a factory director who is loved by his workers and a power struggle between a good and evil capitalist. Leif Sinding
Leif Sinding (19 November 1895 – 13 May 1985) was a Norwegian film director and journalist. He worked for the newspapers ''Verdens Gang (1868–1923), Verdens Gang'', ''Aftenposten'', and ''Morgenbladet''. Among his silent films are ''Himmeluret'' from 1925, based on Gabriel Scott's comedy, and ''Fjeldeventyret'' from 1926. He directed the film ''Bra mennesker'' (1937), based on a play by Oskar Braaten, and the films ''De vergeløse'' (1939) and ''Tante Pose (film), Tante Pose'' (1940), both based on novels by Gabriel Scott. In 1941 he directed the comedy ''Kjærlighet og vennskap''. Henny Skjønberg
Henny Kristin Skjønberg (6 August 1886 – 5 January 1973) was a Norwegian actress and stage director. Biography Hennika Bucher Eide was born in Stavanger, Norway. She was the daughter of Henrik Eide (1831–1907) and Ingeborg Sofie Bucher (1846–1929). She attended upper secondary school at Kongsgård in Stavanger, after which she traveled to London. She made her debut at the newly established Stavanger Faste Scene (later Rogaland Teater) in 1914. Erna Schøyen
Erna Kamilla Schøyen (born Erna Kamille Berg, March 1, 1887 – December 21, 1968) was a Norwegians, Norwegian actress. Career Schøyen trained as an actress at the National Theatre (Oslo), National Theatre from 1905 to 1906, and she had her debut at the Fahlstrøm Theater in 1906. She remained there until she relocated to the Centralteatret, Central Theater in 1911, where she worked until 1959. Schøyen was also engaged with Chat Noir from 1920 to 1924. Schøyen also appeared in dozens of films, including some of Norway's first silent films. When ''Alice in Wonderland (1951 film), Alice in Wonderland'' was dubbed into Norwegian in 1951, Schøyen played one of the voices. She was a master of the Norwegian dialects, Northern Norwegian dialect and played the grandmother of Bodø (nicknamed after a town in northern Norway) in one of the ''Stompa'' films, based on the Jennings (novels), Jennings novels. Tryggve Larssen
Tryggve Larssen (October 3, 1887 – June 28, 1967) was a Norwegian actor. Larssen debuted as an actor in Ludovica Levy's touring theatre in 1911, after which he was engaged with the National Theater in Bergen and the Norwegian Theater in Oslo. He was then engaged with the National Theater in Oslo from 1921 to 1961. As an actor specializing in comic roles, Larssen made a name for himself in annual Christmas performances, including as the first-ever Santa Claus in the play '' Reisen til Julestjernen'' (Journey to the Christmas Star) in 1924. He also played supporting roles in numerous plays by Ludvig Holberg, Henrik Ibsen, and William Shakespeare. Larssen performed on stage until well into retirement age, and his last theater role was as Lavrans in the play ''Guds Gjøglere'' by Odd Eidem.
