Sandy Hamilton
Sandy (Scholtens) Hamilton is an American politician and real estate broker who represents the 99th district in the Illinois House of Representatives. Early life Sandra Hamilton (nee Scholtens) grew up in Woodridge, Illinois and attended Downers Grove North High School. Hamilton was a scholarship athlete and letter winner at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she was a member of teams that won three Big Ten championships and advanced to the Final Four in 1987 and 1988. The team now gives a ''Sandy Scholtens Award'', which is given to athletes who embodies work ethic, attitude and teamwork. Hamilton was a successful high school volleyball coach at private Catholic school Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield from December 2012 to May 2021. Her teams had 7 20-win seasons. Mike Murphy is a former Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 99th district. The 99th district, located in the Springfield metropolitan area, includes the majority of the state's capitol Springfield as well as the communities of Auburn, Berlin, Chatham, Curran, Divernon, Leland Grove, New Berlin, and Thayer. Woodridge is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, with small portions in Will and Cook counties, and a south-western suburb of Chicago. Per the 2020 census, the population was 34,158. The village is just north of the I-55 junction with IL-53. It uses the 630 and 331 area codes. Woodridge is the home of the Home Run Inn pizzeria chain and was the home of Pabst Brewing Company from 2006 to 2011. Woodridge was incorporated on August 24, 1959, with less than 500 residents. Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, often abbreviated SHG, is a Catholic high school located in Springfield, Illinois, United States. It is the city's largest private school and is located in the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. The school opened in the fall of 1988 after Sacred Heart Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school merged with Griffin High School, an all-boys Catholic high school located across the street.
