Sandwich (stylized as <S>andwich in earlier releases) is a Filipino alternative rock band from the Philippines formed by Raymund Marasigan and Diego Castillo. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Raymund Marasigan, guitarists and backing vocalists Diego Castillo and Mong Alcaraz, bassist Myrene Academia and drummer Mike Dizon. History Formation and ''Grip Stand Throw'' (1998–2000) The band was formed in 1998 by Raymund Marasigan (drummer of Eraserheads) and Diego Castillo (The Aga Muhlach Experience) for the purpose of fulfilling their mutual desire to work together. When Raymund Marasigan saw The Aga Muhlach Experience in a gig, he told Diego that he wanted to form a band that sounds like Weezer and Whales. Imago (band)
Imago is a Filipino rock band composed of Kharren "Kurei" Granada (vocals), Myrene "Maps" Academia (bass), Tim Cacho (guitar), and Mervin Panganiban (drums). History Imago was formed in 1996 with Aia de Leon on vocals and rhythm guitar, Tim Cacho on lead guitar, Arvin Gatmaitan on bass and backup vocals, Zach Lucero on drums and London-born Michelle Pritchard on violin. The NU Rock Awards was an annual accolade presented from 1994 to 2010 by the Metro Manila-based radio station NU 107, known for prominent performances by the most influential pinoy rock artists of each year. History The first NU 107 Rock Awards was held at The Music Hall in Annapolis St., Greenhills on November 15, 1994. Ramon Marcelino Diaz Abaya (born November 6, 1979), known professionally as Marc Abaya, is a Filipino singer, musician, actor, TV host, and VJ. He appeared in the 2009 Philippine release of ''Tinker Bell''. He is the son of actor/director Manolo Abaya and director Marilou Diaz-Abaya. Musical career Abaya was discovered by Raimund Marasigan of Eraserheads during a "battle of bands" in which Abaya's band Shirley Beans won first place. The Pin-Ups
The Pin-Up Girls, sometimes called the Pin-Ups, was formed in 1995 by Mondo C. Castro along with Keltscross members Pamela Aquino and Jennifer Tan. Dubbed the "first Philippine-based band to sign with a U.S. label", the Pin-Ups are also included in a UK-based compilation album and have released a single in 2015 with another U.S. indie label, HolyZone Records.
