Sandra Jordan
Sandra Jordan is an Irish television journalist, best known for her investigative visits to many conflict zones around the world for the Channel 4 series '' Dispatches'' and ''Unreported World''. She attended Sacred Heart Secondary School in Westport, County Mayo and in 1987 went on to National University of Ireland, Galway for a degree in English. Temping in journalism led her to the foreign news desk at ''The Observer'' in London, where she was promoted to assistant editor. However, the desk job did not suit her, and she moved into television, making documentaries in Latin America for Channel 4. In March 2003, Jordan was in the Gaza Strip reporting on the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. She reported on Israeli violence against Palestinians, and interviewed local people and protesters from the International Solidarity Movement within two days of the death of American activist Rachel Corrie. Gabriel Range
Gabriel Range is a British filmmaker, who is probably best known for his fictional political-documentary about the assassination of George W. Bush in '' Death of a President''. Range worked in journalism before moving into documentaries and docudrama. In 2003 he wrote and directed ''The Day Britain Stopped'', a feature-length drama told in the style of documentary. The film earned Range a nomination for a British Academy ( BAFTA) TV Craft Award for Best New Director and won a Royal Television Society Craft and Design Award. A documentary film or documentary is a non-fictional motion-picture intended to "document reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education or maintaining a historical record". Crossfire
A crossfire (also known as interlocking fire) is a military term for the siting of weapons (often automatic weapons such as assault rifles or sub-machine guns) so that their arcs of fire overlap. This tactic came to prominence in World War I. Siting weapons this way is an example of the application of the defensive principle of ''mutual support''. 2005 Civil Unrest In France
The 2005 French riots (french: Émeutes de 2005 dans les Banlieues Françaises), was a three-week period of riots in the suburbs of Paris and other French cities, in October and November 2005. These riots involved youth in violent attacks, and the burning of cars and public buildings. The unrest started on 27 October at Clichy-sous-Bois, where police were investigating a reported break-in at a building site, and a group of local youths scattered in order to avoid interrogation. Three of them hid in an electrical substation where two died from electrocution, resulting in a power blackout. (It was not established whether police had suspected these individuals or a different group, wanted on separate charges.)
