Sander Raieste
Sander Raieste (born 31 March 1999) is an Estonian professional basketball player for Saski Baskonia of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. Standing at 2.04 m (6ft 8 in), he plays at the small forward position. Professional career Raieste began playing basketball with Viimsi and Audentes. On 12 August 2016, Raieste signed a five-year contract with Baskonia. He was loaned to Kalev/Cramo in the 2019–20 season, averaging 5.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Raieste signed a four-year extension with Baskonia on 4 August 2020. National team career Raieste made his debut for the Estonian national team on 29 June 2018, in a 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifier against Great Britain, scoring 5 points in a 65–74 away defeat. 2020–21 ACB Season
The 2020–21 ACB season, also known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, was the 38th season of the top Spanish professional basketball league, since its establishment in 1983. It started on 19 September 2020 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 15 June 2021 with the finals. It was the following season after the 2019–20 season was disrupted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, there were not relegations to LEB Oro and the league was expanded to 19 teams. This season was contested by odd-numbered teams for the third time in its history, which means that each regular season round one team did not play any games. TD Systems Baskonia was the defending champion which got knocked out by Valencia Basket in the quarterfinals. Latvian–Estonian Basketball League
The Latvian-Estonian Basketball League is the highest professional men's club basketball league in Latvia and Estonia; it has been organised since 2018, run by the Latvian Basketball Association and the Estonian Basketball Association. History The league was established in 2018 when the Latvijas Basketbola līga (LBL) and Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) merged. In its inaugural season, 15 teams participated in the league. After a Final Four is played to determine the winner of the league, there are playoffs to decide the national champions of Latvia and Estonia. 2019–20 Latvian–Estonian Basketball League
The 2019–20 Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, known as Paf Latvian–Estonian Basketball League for sponsorship reasons, was the 2nd season of the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, the combined top basketball division of Latvia and Estonia. On 12 March 2020, the league was suspended until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eventually, the league was not resumed and no champions were named. VTB United League
VTB United League (russian: Единая Лига ВТБ) is an international professional men's club basketball league that was founded in 2008. It is made up of mostly Russian clubs, along with one each from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Since 2013, it is the first tier of Russian professional club basketball. Therefore, the highest placed Russian team in the league is also named Russian national champions. The league is sponsored by Russian state-owned VTB Bank. In 2008 CSKA Moscow won VTB United League Promo-Cup, but this competition does not count as official VTB title. The current champions are Zenit Saint Petersburg, who secured their 1st ever title after defeating former champions CSKA Moscow 4–3 in the 2022 Finals. The 2018–19 LEB Plata season was the 19th season of the Spanish basketball third league. It started on 6 October 2018 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 25 May 2019 with the promotion playoffs. Format changes On 2 June 2018, the General Assembly of the Spanish Basketball Federation agreed some changes in the competition format: *The competition will be expanded to 24 teams, divided into two groups of twelve by economical and geographical criteria. The 2015–16 Korvpalli Meistriliiga season (also known as the Alexela Korvpalli Meistriliiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 91st season of top-tier basketball in Estonia. TÜ/Rock came into the season as defending champions of the 2014–15 KML season.
