San Juan Airlines
San Juan Airlines is a commuter airline operating scheduled and charter flights in the U.S. state of Washington and the Canadian province of British Columbia. Its main base of operations is Bellingham near the San Juan Islands. The airline's fleet consists of Cessna 172, 206 and 207 aircraft. In 1981, San Juan Airlines acquired Pearson Aircraft which was based in Port Angeles, Washington. On 21 May 2014, Northwest Sky Ferry, which operated since 2007, merged into San Juan Airlines. In May 2019, San Juan Airlines became the third airline to begin weekly passenger service at the Paine Field airport in Snohomish County, WA. Waldron, also known as Waldron Island, is an unincorporated community in San Juan County, Washington, United States. Its population was 104 at the 2000 census. Waldron is in the San Juan Islands. It is designated as a Limited Development District and commercial recreation facilities are prohibited. There is no ferry service, only one county-owned dock, and no electricity or water supply. Decatur Island
Decatur Island is one of the San Juan Islands in Washington state, USA. Located just east of Lopez Island across Lopez Sound and just south of Blakely Island across Thatcher Pass, it is 3.524 square miles (9.127 km²) in area, and was named by the Wilkes Expedition in 1841 for naval officer Stephen Decatur. History A post office called Decatur was established in 1891, and remained in operation until 1969. There is a one-room school for kindergarten through eighth grade.
