San Diego Legion
The San Diego Legion are an American professional rugby union team based in San Diego, California, that competes in Major League Rugby (MLR). The team plays its home games at Torero Stadium. The Legion began play in the league's inaugural 2018 season. History Established in 2017, the San Diego Legion have represented San Diego since their inception. The Legion are one of seven founding teams in Major League Rugby. The Legion began play at Torero Stadium on the campus of the University of San Diego for the 2018 season. On February 2, 2022, the Legion announced Snapdragon Stadium to be their new home beginning in 2023. On November 19, 2024, the team announced plans to leave Snapdragon Stadium to return to Torero Stadium. Playoff games may be hosted at Snapdragon Stadium depending on demand. Ballast Point Brewing Company is an American brewery founded in 1996 by Jack White in San Diego, California. Ballast Point Brewing Co. started in the back of Home Brew Mart, a homebrew supply store White founded in 1992. As of 2015, it was the second largest brewer in San Diego County and the 17th largest brewery in the country based on sales volume. The company's main production facility is in Miramar. It also has brewery locations in San Diego's Little Italy and Scripps Ranch neighborhoods, as well as its original Home Brew Mart location in San Diego's Linda Vista neighborhood. Christian Poidevin (born 9 September 1998) is an Australian rugby union player for the San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR). His preferred position is flanker. Poidevin is the son of former Wallaby Simon Poidevin. He attended Newington College and in 2022 earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New South Wales. Vili Helu (born 20 March 1996) is an American rugby union player, currently playing for . His preferred position is flanker or number 8, but he can also play as a lock. Jed Holloway (born 2 November 1992) is an Australian professional rugby union player for the San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR). He previously played for NSW Country Eagles, and the Wallabies (the Australian national team), as well as Munster in the URC and Leicester Tigers in England's Premiership Rugby. Hugh Roach (born 11 September 1992) is an Australian rugby union professional player who plays hooker for the San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR) in the United States. He also plays for the USA Perpignan of Top 14 (France). Family and early life Roach was born in Sydney. He played his junior rugby at Hunters Hill Rugby Club, and attended Newington College.
