Samuel Stonestreet (born 2 July 2002) is an Australian rugby league footballer who plays as a er for Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the National Rugby League. Background Stonestreet played his junior football for De La Salle College Caringbah and is the grandson of Ken Stonestreet who played over 150 first grade games in the 1960's and 70s. Growing up, Stonestreet's favourite player was Luke Covell. Stonestreet went to school at De La Salle College, Cronulla where he completed the HSC in 2020. The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire, Southern Sydney, New South Wales. They compete in the National Rugby League ( NRL), Australasia's premier rugby league competition. The National Rugby League (NRL) is an Australasian rugby league club competition which contains clubs from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and New Zealand. De La Salle College Caringbah is an independent Roman Catholic comprehensive single-sex secondary day school for boys, located in Caringbah, a southern suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Ken Stonestreet
Ken Stonestreet nicknamed "Nebo" was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He played for Western Suburbs and Eastern Suburbs in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. Playing career Stonestreet made his first grade debut for Eastern Suburbs against Newtown in 1963 at Henson Park which ended in a 19-0 loss. Stonestreet played with Easts between 1963 and 1966 but his time at the club was not successful as they finished last in 1963, 1965 and 1966. In his final year at Easts, the club went the whole season without winning a single game. As of 2019, Eastern Suburbs are the last team to have gone the whole year without winning a match. Luke Covell
Luke Covell (born 9 November 1981) is a former New Zealand international rugby league footballer who played as a goal-kicking winger for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and Wests Tigers in the NRL. He also played at representative level for NSW Country and was described as one of the most respected players in the NRL. Although born and raised in Australia, Covell was eligible to play for New Zealand through his father, making one appearance for the Kiwis in 2007.
