Samuel Ebbe Bring
Samuel Ebbe Bring (25 September 1879 – 16 January 1965) was a Swedish librarian and historian. Biography Bring was born in Vinslöv Parish, Kristianstad County, to Ebbe Lars Bring and Klara Dorotea Bergman. From 1908 to 1909 he taught at the Palmgrenska samskolan. He became second librarian at the Royal Library of Sweden in 1909 and a doctor of philosophy at Lund University in 1912. From 1914 to 1944 he held the role of first librarian at Uppsala University Library. Among Bring's extensive writings are the history of the Trollhätte Canal (two volumes, 1911–1914), the Uppsala County Royal Agricultural Society (two volumes, 1915–1916), the history of the Göta Canal (1922), the history of the Södertälje Canal up to 1819 (1925), the Uppsala County Fire Company 1845–1925 (1925), and several contributions to research on Charles XII in the Karolinska förbundet's yearbook. Christopher Polhammar (18 December 1661 – 30 August 1751) better known as Christopher Polhem (), which he took after his ennoblement in 1716, was a Swedish scientist, inventor, and industrialist. Vinslöv Church
Vinslöv Church () is a medieval church in Vinslöv, Scania, Sweden. It belongs to the Church of Sweden. The church contains some of the earliest church murals in Sweden, possibly made by an artist from Lombardy. History The church dates from the first half of the 12th century. Originally it consisted of a broad, western tower, a nave, a chancel and an apse. In the 15th century, an earlier ceiling was replaced with vaults. Further changes was made after the end of the Middle Ages. In 1759, the upper part of the tower was rebuilt and slightly later the church was enlarged towards the north. In 1872, a southern transept arm was also added. A renovation was carried out in 1916–1918 by . Murals and furnishings The apse of the church is decorated with medieval paintings. Project Runeberg () is a digital cultural archive initiative that publishes free electronic versions of books significant to the culture and history of the Nordic countries. Magnus Stenbock
Count Magnus Stenbock (22 May 1665 – 23 February 1717) was a Swedish field marshal (''Fältmarskalk'') and Privy Council of Sweden, Royal Councillor. A commander of the Caroleans, Carolean Army during the Great Northern War, he was a prominent member of the Stenbock family. He studied at Uppsala University and joined the Swedish Army during the Nine Years' War, participating in the Battle of Fleurus (1690), Battle of Fleurus in 1690. After the battle, he was appointed lieutenant colonel, entered Holy Roman Empire, Holy Roman service as Adjutant General, and married Eva Magdalena Oxenstierna, daughter of statesman Bengt Gabrielsson Oxenstierna. Returning to Swedish service he received colonelcy of a regiment in Wismar, and later became colonel of the Kalmar Regiment, Kalmar and then Dalarna Regiment, Dalarna regiments.
