Samrat Chaudhary
Samrat Chaudhary alias Rakesh Kumar is a politician and Member of Legislative Council from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has also remained Member of Legislative Assembly and a minister in Government of Bihar in Rashtriya Janata Dal government. Chaudhary has been a former Vice President of BJP for the state of Bihar and currently elected for the second term as MLC in 2020 after his first term ended in 2019. In 2014 Samrat planned a split in Rashtriya Janata Dal by defecting thirteen MLAs as splinter group of the party. He later joined BJP. Life Samrat belongs to Koeri caste and has been OBC face of the BJP for long time. He was born on 16 November 1968 in Lakhanpur village of Munger. Shakuni Choudhary (born 4 January 1936) is an Indian politician who is a founding member of Samata Party. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, lower house of the Parliament of India from Khagaria Lok Sabha constituency as member of the Samata Party. Choudhary has been known for political defection and has remained Deputy Speaker in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He was a former loyal to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) but left the party on the ground of it promoting the interest of Lalu Prasad Yadav's family. The defection happened soon after his son Samrat Choudhary orchestrated a split in RJD by alienating thirteen MLAs to seek recognition as separate splinter group. Lalu Prasad Yadav (born 11 June 1948) is an Indian politician and president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He is a former Chief Minister of Bihar (1990-1997), a former Railway Minister of India (2004-2009), and a former Member of Parliament (MP) of the Lok Sabha. He entered politics at Patna University as a student leader and in 1977 at the age of 29, was elected as the youngest member of the Lok Sabha for the Janata Party. He became the Chief Minister of Bihar in 1990. His party came to power in 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election in partnership with Nitish Kumar of JD(U). This coalition ended when Nitish resigned and RJD was ousted, becoming the opposition party.
