Sample Drill
Brooklyn drill is a regional subgenre of drill music, which is a subgenre of hip-hop music. It centered in Brooklyn, New York, that began as derivative of the drill music scene in Chicago and later became derivative of UK drill with its 808 percussion and sliding notes by producers from the UK drill scene. Brooklyn drill emerged around 2014 with the single "Hot Nigga" from the rapper Bobby Shmurda. Other early contributors were Rowdy Rebel, Envy Caine, Jezz Gasoline, Bam Bino, Money Millz, Dah Dah and Curly Savv. In 2019, the subgenre was repopularized in the mainstream by American rapper Pop Smoke. With the success of his mixtapes, particularly the songs "Dior" and " Welcome to the Party", Pop Smoke introduced Brooklyn drill into the mainstream music industry. Drill music, also known as drill rap or simply drill, is a subgenre of hip-hop music that originated in Chicago in the early 2010s. It is sonically similar to the trap music subgenre and lyrically similar to the gangsta rap subgenre. Drill lyricism is noted for its ominous, confrontational nature, often including references to gang rivalries and various incidents, sometimes murder, although the subgenre is thematically broader. Drill artists often address authentic, real-life conflicts, at times incorporating artistic expressions such as bravado, taunting or mockery. Early drill artists are typically noted for their associations with crime in Chicago, especially with the Black Disciples and Gangster Disciples. Jeffrey Mark Alexander (November 29, 1997), known professionally as 22Gz ( ), is an American rapper credited as a pioneer of the Brooklyn drill scene. 22Gz released his first major mixtape, ''The Blixky Tape'', through Atlantic Records in 2019. UK Garage
UK garage, abbreviated as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England in the early to mid-1990s. The genre was most clearly inspired by garage house and jungle production methods, but also incorporates elements from dance-pop and R&B. It is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular " 2-step" rhythms. Garage tracks also commonly feature 'chopped up' and time-stretched or pitch-shifted vocal samples complementing the underlying rhythmic structure at a tempo usually around 130 BPM. Grime is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) that emerged in London in the early 2000s. It developed out of the earlier UK dance style UK garage, and draws influences from jungle, dancehall, and hip hop. Trap music, also known simply as trap, is a subgenre of hip-hop music which originated in the Southern United States, with lyrical references to trap starting in 1991 but the modern sound of trap appearing in 1999. "Whoopty" is the debut single by American rapper CJ. The song was initially self-released on July 30, 2020, before being re-released by Warner Records following his signing to the label. The song reached number 10 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in February 2021, as well as number three in the UK and the ''Billboard'' Global 200 top 10. It was produced by the Cypriot producer Pxcoyo and samples Arijit Singh's "Sanam Re" (2015). Christopher Daniel Soriano Jr. (born January 4, 1997), better known by his stage name CJ, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter from Staten Island, New York.
