Samin Baghtcheban ( fa, ثمین باغچهبان , tr, Samin Bahçeban) (variations: Baghcheban, Baqcheban, Bahceban) (1923 – 19 March 2008) was an Iranian composer, author and translator. Biography Samin Baghtcheban was born in 1925 in Tabriz, Persia (modern Iran) and grew up in Shiraz and Tehran, where his father established the first modern kindergartens and schools for the deaf in Iran. His father, Jabbar Baghtcheban, was a leading educator and pioneer of Persian language, Persian cued speech. Samin Baghcheban started his music studies at the Tehran Conservatory of Music. In 1944 Samin Baghtcheban was awarded a scholarship to study composition in Ankara State Conservatory. He returned to Tehran in 1949 and started teaching at the Conservatory. He was married to the opera singer, Evelyn Baghtcheban, whom he met while studying in Ankara. Samin Gómez Briceno (born February 4, 1992 in Maracay) is a racing driver from Venezuela. She has raced in karting and several formulae. Career Karting Samin Gómez started racing at the age of seven, racing in the Panamerican Championship, a series supported by the Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). She moved to Europe for the 2007 season, taking part in the Formula Kart France series. Samin Nosrat ( fa, ثمین نصرت, , born November 7, 1979) is an American chef, TV host, food writer and podcaster. She is the author of the James Beard Award–winning, ''New York Times'' Bestselling cookbook '' Salt Fat Acid Heat'' and host of a Netflix docu-series of the same name. From 2017–2021, she was a food columnist for ''The New York Times Magazine.'' Nosrat is also the co-host of the podcast ''Home Cooking.'' Xavier Samin (born 1 January 1978) is a Tahitian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He currently plays for AS Tefana in the Tahiti Division Fédérale, and the Tahiti national football team. Biography Samin started playing football at the age of eight at AS Tefana. Ten years later he was promoted to Tefana's main adult team, on which he remains to date. In 17 seasons with Tefana, Samin won the Tahiti First Division three times, as well as five Tahiti Cups and the 2007 Tahiti Coupe des Champions. Outside of the field, Samin works as a football teacher, and an accountant. The first caps for Samin in the Tahitian squad were in 2000.
