Samiha Ayoub
Samiha Ayoub (; 8 March 1932 – 3 June 2025) was an Egyptian actress known for her work on stage, in film and on television. In 2015, she received the Nile Award in the Arts, and in the same year, the large hall in the National Theater was named after her, in honour of her outstanding career in cinema and theater, and her contributions to the theatrical arts in Egypt. Biography Samiha Ayoub was born in Shubra, Cairo in 1932. She graduated from the Nun's School then joined the Acting Institute in 1952. Her breakthrough came after her role in Samara and ''Rabaa ElAdawya'' (radio series). She has been married three times, to actor Mohsen Sarhan, actor Mahmoud Morsy, and playwright Sa’ed Eddine Wihbe (Saad Eddin Wehbe). From 1972 to 1975, Ayoub managed The Modern Theatre, and from 1975 to 1985, she was the director of Al-Qawmy Theatre. Samiha Khrais
Samiha Khrais, alternative spelling Samihah Kharis (, born 16 August 1956) is a Jordanian novelist, journalist and translator. She was born in Amman and completed her primary and secondary school education in Qatar and Sudan and her university education in Egypt. For around 20 years, Khrais held a number of positions in the field of journalism, including editor-in-chief for Jordanian ''Hatem '' magazine and writer for Al-Ittihad newspaper, among others. She served as board member of the Radio and Television Department and PEN International in Jordan, and one of the founders of Emirates Writers Union. She has published over 15 literary works, and was nominated for a number of literary prizes, most notably, the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel in 2017. Samiha Ayverdi
Samiha Ayverdi (25 November 1905 – 22 March 1993) was a Turkish writer. Biography Samiha Ayverdi was born in İstanbul to Fatma Meliha Hanim and İsmail Hakkı Bey, an Ottoman military official. She studied at Süleymaniye Kız Numune Mektebi and among other things, learned French and read about philosophy and Islamic mysticism. She became a follower and later official successor of Sufi thinker Kenan Rıfai, who became a major influence in her work. She was the sister of architect and historian Ekrem Hakkı Ayverdi. In 1938, she published her first novel titled ''Aşk Budur'' and followed it with over 30 novels and short story collections. Samiha Khalil
Samiha al-Qubaj Salameh Khalil (Arabic: سميحة خليل; born 1923 in Anabta, Mandatory Palestine – died 26 February 1999 in Ramallah, Palestine), also known as Umm Khalil, was a Palestinian charity worker as well as a prominent figure in Palestinian politics. Khalil's father was the mayor of Anabta, where she was born. She dropped out of high school at the age of seventeen to marry Salameh Khalil. After the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the couple fled to Gaza where they raised a family of five children, and in 1964 Samiha finally returned to school and graduated. In 1965, Khalil came to the public eye when she founded the In'aash al-Usra society in her garage - it would grow to become the largest and most effective Palestinian welfare organization. Samiha Tarek Ahmed Mohsen (born October 28, 1998) is an Egyptian swimmer. Career At the 2018 African Swimming Championships in Algiers, Algeria, Samiha won the following medals: Personal life Born in Egypt, Samiha moved to the United States in 2015 to complete a bachelor's degree in biology pre-medicine, interning at the Mayo Clinic upon graduation. She then completed her master's degree in epidemiology at the University of Calgary, Canada, where she was part of the university's varsity swim team.
