Samarpane
''Samarpane'' is a 1983 Indian Kannada-language film based on the novel of the same name by Usha Navratnaram, directed by H. R. Bhargava and produced by P. Krishnaraj. The film stars Aarathi in the main role of the female protagonist Sarla opposite Rajeev and Jai Jagadish. The film has musical score by M. Ranga Rao. Aarathi who had previously starred in two movies based on Usha Navratnaram's novels (Hombisilu and Preetisi Nodu) was signed for the role. Ramakrishna who was to play the antagonist was replaced by Jai Jagdish since Ramakrishna had played the role of Aarathi's son (Ranganayaki) only a couple of years earlier and the director felt that the audience may not accept the pairing. Aarathi
Aarathi (born as Bharathi in 1954) is a former Indian actress and director who prominently worked in Kannada films during the 1970s and 1980s. Her accolades include four Karnataka State Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. Besides Kannada, Aarathi has appeared in few Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. Jai Jagadish (born 29 June 1954) is an Indian actor, producer and director from the Kannada film industry. Starting his career as hero in '' Phalitamsha'' (1976), he went on to feature in over 300 films as an actor. Leena Sequeira (1937 – 8 December 2023), known mononymously as Leelavathi, was an Indian actress, producer who worked predominantly in Kannada and Tamil films, in addition to few Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tulu films.
