Samarinda Morning Market
The Samarinda Morning Market () is the oldest traditional market in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Located at the village of (named after the market) in Samarinda Kota, the Morning Market has been existed since 1940s as the only market in Samarinda. Considering its old age, the market was demolished in 2024 to make room for a new building. History Back when Samarinda was established as the capital of East Kutai district (, not to be confused with the regency) in 1946, the Morning Market was the only market in the city. The building was originally constructed using woods and made with partitions. Following the construction of Pinang Babaris shopping complex in 1971, Segiri Market in 1978, and other markets under presidential instruction, the Morning Market began to grow significantly. Along with its development, this market's infrastructure increasingly became inadequate. Considering its old age and unfeasibility, Andi Harun's government started to revitalise the market ...

Samarinda Kota
Samarinda Kota (, lit. 'Samarinda town') is a district of Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As of 2023, it was inhabited by 32,379 people, and currently has the total area of 11.12 km2. It was separated from Samarinda Ilir and Samarinda Ulu (Bugis only) on 14 December 2010. Its district seat is located at the village of Sungai Pinang Luar. One of its villages, Bugis, serves as ''de facto'' seat of Samarinda city government, although there were proposals to relocate into peripheral locations, including Sungai Siring (North Samarinda) or Makroman (Sambutan) in early 2020s. An older district, with the same name, was already bifurcated into Samarinda Ilir and Samarinda Ulu during the early days of city's formation in 1960s (date unknown).
