Samantha Terán
Samantha Terán Quintanilla (born May 6, 1981, in Mexico City) is a professional female squash (sport), squash player who represents Mexico. Terán first joined the WISPA Tour in 2000, and she entered the world top twenty for the first time in 2008 as she won the eighth and ninth Tour titles of her career. These followed two in 2007, the Gannon Open and Toronto Open, in both events beating American Latasha Khan in the final. In early 2008 it was Khan who was despatched in the finals of the Liberty Bell and Windy City Open, Windy City Opens in the United States. The Mexican people, Mexican did it again in May to win the Subway Goshen Open, but this time Khan was beaten in the semis. Terán then captured another two titles at the end of June at Los Angeles Open, and at the Harrow Mexican Open, an event she had developed herself. Official Women's Squash World Ranking
The Women's Squash World Rankings are the official world rankings for women's squash. The WISPA Wispa is a brand of chocolate bar manufactured by British chocolate company Cadbury. Using aerated chocolate, the bar was launched in 1981 as a trial version in North East England, and with its success it was introduced nationally in 1983. I ..., the WSA and the PSA has used a computerized system for determining the rankings since April 1984. The ranking is to rate the performance level of female professional squash players. It is also a merit-based method used for determining entry and seeding in women's squash tournaments. The rankings were initially produced monthly; this has been changed to weekly basis effective ranking issue dated August 29, 2022. The current world number one is Nour El Sherbini of Egypt, who replaced Nouran Gohar in September 2023.
