Sam Low
Samuel E. Low (born 1970) is an American businessman and member of the Washington State House of Representatives, representing the 39th district. Early life and career After graduation from Maranatha Baptist University with a degree in theology, Low operated a painting business in Lake Stevens for 10 years. Political career Low was elected to represent District 5 on the Snohomish County Council in 2016. Prior to his election to the Snohomish County Council, he was a member of the Lake Stevens city council and had served as Council President and Mayor Pro Tem. Low was initially elected to complete the term of Dave Somers, who had been elected as County Executive, by defeating appointed councilman and former state representative Hans Dunshee. Dave Somers
David J. Somers (born 1953) is an American politician and fisheries biologist serving as the Snohomish County Executive, an office he has held since 2016. Somers previously served on the Snohomish County Council, representing the 5th district in the eastern portion of the county. Early life and career Somers was raised in Napa, California and studied at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, before moving to the Seattle area to attend the University of Washington. There, he earned a bachelor's degree in fisheries science and later returned to complete a master's degree in forest ecology. Somers was employed as a fisheries biologist by the Tulalip Tribes from 1979 to 1997. ''The Everett Herald'' is a daily newspaper based in Everett, Washington, United States. It is owned by Sound Publishing, Inc. The paper serves residents of Snohomish County. History ''The Daily Herald'' was first published on February 11, 1901, by S. A. Perkins and S. E. Wharton. The Snohomish County Executive is the head of the executive branch of Snohomish County, Washington. The position is subject to four-year terms (with a term limit of 3) and is a partisan office. History County voters approved the adoption of a home-rule charter for Snohomish County on November 6, 1979, creating the position of a county executive and a five-member county council.
