Sam Jacobson
Samuel Ryan Jacobson (born July 22, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player. He played professionally for the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves. Early life Jacobson was born in Cottage Grove, Minnesota and played for Park High School in Cottage Grove. He was named Minnesota Mr. Basketball in his senior year. College career He attended the University of Minnesota and helped lead the Golden Gophers to the 1997 NCAA Final Four as a junior and a National Invitation Tournament title as a senior. Professional career Jacobson was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round with the 26th pick of the 1998 NBA Draft. Cottage Grove is a city south of Saint Paul in Washington County in the State of Minnesota. It lies on the north bank of the Mississippi River, north of the confluence with the St. Croix River. Minnesota Golden Gophers
The Minnesota Golden Gophers (commonly shortened to Gophers) are the college sports teams of the University of Minnesota. The university fields a total of 25 (12 men's, 13 women's) teams in both men's and women's sports and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Gophers women's ice hockey team is a six-time NCAA champion and seven-time national champion. In women's ice hockey, the Gophers belong to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Ryan Felix Mayne Garry (born 29 September 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender and could also operate as a midfielder for Arsenal and AFC Bournemouth. He is currently head coach of the England U17s. The 1998 NBA draft took place on June 24, 1998, at General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This draft helped turn around four struggling franchises: the Dallas Mavericks, the Sacramento Kings, the Boston Celtics, and the Toronto Raptors. The Vancouver Grizzlies and the Toronto Raptors were not able to win the NBA draft lottery; as they were expansion teams, they were not allowed to select first in this draft.
