Salwa Toko
Salwa Toko (born October 1975) is a diversity and digital literacy activist. She is President of the Conseil National du Numérique (CNNum). Early life and education Toko was born in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. Her mother is of Moroccan and Syrian heritage and her father is from Nigeria and Benin. Her grandmother fought for women's rights in Arab countries. Toko grew up in Mali and attended high school in France. Whilst she had initially intended on studying medicine at college, she switched to law and specialised in international law. Toko completed her specialist science training at Sciences Po. Career Toko was appointed Director of a television channel in Benin in 2000. Toko founded the Senegal the Africatic school which helped young people integrate internet in their work. Toko returned to France in 2009, where she joined the Fondation Agir Contre l'Exclusion (FACE). FACE looks to connect the business world with education. Gulf Of Salwah
The Gulf of Salwah (Dawhat Salwah) is the southern portion of the Gulf of Bahrain. The Gulf of Salwah is a narrow bay separating the peninsula of Qatar from Saudi Arabia. It is bordered to the west by a well-vegetated shoreland containing palm trees and reed beds. To the east are low cliffs and hills, with sand dunes and salt flats at the southern end. Geography The Gulf of Salwah is an elongated bay extending southwards from the Gulf of Bahrain. It is about long and about wide at its widest point. To the west lies Saudi Arabia and to the east Qatar. The surface of the land surrounding the Gulf of Salwah is largely flat, covered with sand or pebbles. On the east side, there are sand dunes and salt flats at the southern end and low cliffs and hills further north on the west coast of Qatar, and this is the area where the main oilfields are located. Salwa Judum
Salwa Judum (meaning "peace march" in the Gondi language) was a militia that was mobilised and deployed as part of counterinsurgency operations in Chhattisgarh, India, aimed at countering Naxalite activities in the region. The militia, consisting of local tribal youth, received support and training from the Chhattisgarh state government. It was outlawed and banned by a Supreme Court court order but continues to exist in the form of armed auxiliary forces, District Reserve Groups, and other vigilante groups. On 5 July 2011, the Supreme Court of India, in a case filed by Nandini Sundar and others, declared the militia to be illegal and unconstitutional and ordered its disbanding. The court directed the Government of Chhattisgarh to recover all of its firearms, ammunition, and accessories. Salwa Canal
The Salwa Canal is a proposed shipping route and tourism project through Saudi Arabia along its border with Qatar, effectively turning the latter into an island. The project appears to be abandoned for the present. Background In June 2017, Saudi Arabia and a number of countries cut diplomatic relations with Qatar and imposed a land, sea, and air blockade. Since the early 2000s, Doha, the capital of Qatar has been undergoing an extensive expansion in its transportation network including the addition of new highways, the construction of a new airport, and the addition of the Doha metro. These projects are meant to keep up with the population's rapid growth, which has strained the country's current infrastructure. Salwa Kingdom
Salwa (also written as Śalva halva is a kingdom grouped among the western kingdoms in the epic Mahabharata. It was close to Madra kingdom as both are mentioned together in many places. Saubha was its capital. Martikavati (alias Matika, Matrika, Matrikavati) also was mentioned as the capital of Salwa kingdom. The famous prince Satyavan was from Salwa. He married the Madra princess, Savitri, the daughter of Madra king Aswapati. Their history is a famous narration in Mahabharata. Salwa Al Neimi
Salwa Al Neimi, also Salwa al-Nuʿaymī () is a Syrian writer, poet and journalist living in France. Originally from Damascus, she is known for her outspoken views on topics which are taboo in the Muslim world, particularly female sexuality. In 2007 she published her debut novel, ''The Proof of the Honey'', which was noted for its liberal treatment of female sexuality. Some of her works have been published in English, French and other languages. Biography Al Neimi studied at the University of Damascus in 1975 and subsequently at Paris-Sorbonne University in Paris, where she received a postgraduate degree in Arabic literature.
