Salvador Medialdea
Salvador "Bingbong" Campo Medialdea (born October 14, 1951) is a Filipino lawyer and former government official. He served as the Executive Secretary (Philippines), Executive Secretary from 2016 to 2022 in Presidency of Rodrigo Duterte, the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte. He previously served as Presidential Assistant for Political Affairs and president of the National Livelihood Development Corporation under President Joseph Estrada. In March 2025, Medialdea served as Duterte's counsel during Arrest of Rodrigo Duterte, the latter's arrest and Arrest of Rodrigo Duterte#Start of ICC court hearings, subsequent pre-trial hearing at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Baler, Aurora
Baler (, , , ; ), officially the Municipality of Baler (; ), is a municipality and capital of the province of Aurora, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 43,785 people. History Spanish colonial period In 1609, seven Franciscan missionaries led by Fray Blas Palomino founded the settlement of Baler. It was later converted into a ''pueblo'' (town) by the Augustinians and the Recollects in 1658. Due to the scarcity of religious missionaries, the Franciscans again took over the administration of the settlement in 1703. On December 27, 1735, a great storm struck the town and a huge wave called ''tromba marina'' devastated the old town settlement then located in Barrio Sabang. The 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines (2021 QCP) was a series of observances organized to mark the 500th anniversary of various events in the Philippines, notably the introduction of Christianity in the Philippines, the role of the country in the Magellan–Elcano circumnavigation, and the victory of Lapulapu in the Battle of Mactan. Background The Philippine national government aims to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Filipinos' first contact with the Spanish in 1521 from a Filipino-centric point of view in 2021. Sarrat, officially the Municipality of Sarrat (; ), is a municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 25,186 people. Interaksyon (stylized in all lowercase) is a Philippine digital news website owned by Philstar Global Corporation, a subsidiary of MediaQuest Holdings's Philstar Media Group (Hastings Holdings). The website contains news aggregation from Philstar Media Group's properties such as ''The Philippine Star'' and ''BusinessWorld'', as well as human-interest stories.
