Salt Lake City Stars
The Salt Lake City Stars are an American minor-league professional basketball team. They are a member of the NBA G League, based in the Salt Lake City suburb of West Valley City, Utah, and are affiliated with the Utah Jazz. Before the 2016–17 season, they were based in Boise, Idaho. Their home arena is the Maverik Center. History Idaho Stampede The team was founded as a member of the Continental Basketball Association in 1997 and was league runner-up in the 2003–04 season, losing to the Dakota Wizards. After the 2005–06 season, the Stampede announced that the team would be joining the NBA Development League. From 2005 to 2015, the team played as the Idaho Stampede at the CenturyLink Arena in Boise. Orem is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States, in the northern part of the state. Bryan Gates
Bryan Gates is an American professional basketball coach who has been an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers since 2023. Gates began his coaching experience with the Idaho Stampede and the Rapid City Thrillers during the late 1990s. In the United States Basketball League, Gates was the head coach for the Oklahoma Storm and the Florence Flyers during the 2000s. During this time period, Gates and the Storm reach the league's championship game during 2000. In 2005, Gates went to the NBA D-League and became an assistant coach for the Austin Toros. With the Stampede from 2006 to 2009, his team won the 2007-08 D League Championship. Joe Wolf
Joseph James Wolf (December 17, 1964 – September 26, 2024) was an American professional basketball player and coach. Wolf played eleven seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for seven different teams. He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels, where in 1987 he was named first-team All-ACC. Prior to UNC, Wolf was one of the most successful high school players in Wisconsin state history. Early life Wolf was born on December 17, 1964, and raised in Kohler, Wisconsin. Larry Brett Krystkowiak ( ; born September 23, 1964) is a retired American professional basketball player, and former head coach of the Utah Utes men's basketball team. Early life Krystkowiak was born in Missoula, Montana, to Bernard and Helen Krystkowiak. At a young age, his mother always encouraged Larry to participate in sports. His mother died of Hodgkin's lymphoma when he was eight years old and his father remarried. He primarily grew up in Shelby, Montana, and his step-mother did not approve of Larry playing sports. At the age of 15, Larry moved out of Shelby and finished his high school career at Big Sky High School in Missoula. Rory White
Rory Wilbur White (born August 16, 1959) is an American former professional basketball player. A and power forward, he played college basketball for the South Alabama Jaguars, and was the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in 1979. He was selected with the 17th pick of the fourth round of the 1982 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns. He averaged 11.7 points and 0.99 steals per game with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1985–86, arguably his best season. Russ Bergman (born September 13, 1947) is an American former college basketball player and coach. Bergman played collegiately at LSU, and would go on to be an interim basketball coach at Appalachian State, and head coach of Coastal Carolina. Playing career Bergman was a 4-year scholarship player for the LSU Tigers. He played under Press Maravich and was roommates with the legendary Pete Maravich. Coaching career Bergman would start his coaching career as an assistant at Appalachian State, working under his coach at LSU (Press Maravich) in 1972. Bobby Dye
Robert Lloyd Dye (born May 16, 1937) is an American former basketball coach. Early life and college years Born in Los Angeles, Dye graduated from Downey High School in nearby Downey, California in 1956. Dye enrolled at Fullerton College, Fullerton Junior College and played on the basketball team there from 1956 to 1958. He transferred to Idaho State University and played on the Idaho State Bengals men's basketball, Bengals basketball team from 1960 to 1962 and graduated from Idaho State in 1962.
