Salomé Moiane
Salomé Milagre Machiuassane Moiane (born 1951) is a Mozambican politician. In 1977 she was one of the first group of women elected to the People's Assembly. Biography Moiane was born in Maciene in 1951 to parents who lived in Ngonwanine village.Colin Darch (2018''Historical Dictionary of Mozambique''p268 Her father, an assimilado, worked in Lourenço Marques for the Portuguese Geographical and Cadastral Service and Moiane was raised by her maternal grandmother until the age of six. She attended a catholic primary school in Chongoene for three years and then spent a year at school in Xipamanine before studying bookkeeping at the Escola Comercial. She also joined the Geographical and Cadastral Service in 1968 and was the first African woman to quality as a map drafting technician. After marrying in 1971, Moiane and her husband moved to Beira. Assembly Of The Republic (Mozambique)
The Assembly of the Republic () is the unicameral legislative body of the Mozambique, Republic of Mozambique, established in 1977. The current parliament has 250 members, who are directly elected through a system of party-list proportional representation and serve five-year terms. Parties must receive at least five percent of the vote nationally to gain parliamentary representation. Parliamentary debates and business are conducted entirely in Portuguese language, Portuguese. Three parties are represented in the parliament: FRELIMO, RENAMO and the Democratic Movement of Mozambique. Sofala is a Provinces of Mozambique, province of Mozambique. It has a population of 2,259,248 (2017 census). Beira, Mozambique, Beira is the capital of the province, named for the ruined port of Sofala which is to the south. Founded in 1962, FRELIMO began as a nationalist movement fighting for the self-determination and independence of Mozambique from Portuguese colonial rule. General elections were held in Mozambique between 3 and 5 December 1999 to elect a president and the Assembly of the Republic. Incumbent president Joaquim Chissano won a narrow victory against Afonso Dhlakama, whilst Chissano's FRELIMO party won the Assembly elections, taking 133 of the 250 seats. 1994 Mozambican General Election
General elections were held in Mozambique between 27 and 29 October 1994 to elect a president and the Assembly of the Republic. It was the first time the country had had multi-party elections, as previously FRELIMO had been the sole legal party.
