Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust
Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS foundation trust based in Salisbury that covers South Wiltshire, North and East Dorset and South West Hampshire. It gained foundation trust status in 2006. Its main site is Salisbury District Hospital, a large general hospital. Stacey Hunter, who began her career as a nurse, was appointed as chief executive officer in June 2020. Structure In 2013 the trust established a subsidiary company, Salisbury Trading Limited, providing laundry services, to which 77 estates and facilities staff were transferred. The intention was to achieve VAT benefits, as well as pay bill savings, by recruiting new staff on less expensive non-NHS contracts. Salisbury ( ) is a cathedral city in Wiltshire, England with a population of 41,820, at the confluence of the rivers Avon, Nadder and Bourne. The city is approximately from Southampton and from Bath. Salisbury District Hospital
Salisbury District Hospital is a large hospital on Odstock Road, Britford, Wiltshire, England, about south of the centre of the city of Salisbury. It is managed by the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. History The first Odstock Hospital was constructed in Britford parish in 1942 by the United States Army to treat American troops who were stationed in the Salisbury area during the Second World War. A specialist burns unit, rehabilitation department and Macmillan Cancer Unit were built there after the war. A spinal injuries treatment centre was officially opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales in 1984.
