Salesian English School
Salesian English School (Secondary Section), is a secondary boys school in Hong Kong. Founded by the Roman Catholic religious institute the Salesians of Don Bosco, it is located at Chai Wan Road, Shau Kei Wan, Hong Kong Island. The school's patron saint is Blessed Filippo Rinaldi and the motto is "Alere Flammam". History In 1941, due to the great demand at the time, the Salesians of Don Bosco established the Salesian Children's Home under the Salesian Seminary, the progenitor of the Salesian English School. The school was operated by the SalesiaChina Province of Mary Help of Christians The primary section of the Salesian English School was established in 1950 with the secondary section following in 1955. In 1959, the first senior secondary students sat for the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination. Chai Wan Road
Chai Wan Road () located in Hong Kong, is one of the major roads in Chai Wan on Hong Kong Island. It runs from Shau Kei Wan to Chai Wan through Chai Wan Gap; with one of the steepest inclines in Hong Kong on either side, with signs posted 1 in 10 gradient. It is therefore popularly referred to as ''Cheung Meng Che'' (長命斜), or long-lived incline. The road was the only way towards Chai Wan before the opening of the Island Eastern Corridor and MTR Island line. Currently, it is still the only pedestrian route connecting to Chai Wan. Ng Cho-nam (, August 15, 1960 – December 13, 2019), , was a Hong Kong environmental studies scholar and conservationist who taught as an associate professor within the Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong. He served as a top advisor on numerous Hong Kong government committees in areas of conservation, sustainable development, environmental protection, urban planning, and was an active member in various environmental NGOs.
