Sale Harriers Manchester
Sale Harriers Manchester is a British athletics club based in Sale, Greater Manchester, England. The club is based primarily at Crossford Bridge on Danefield Road but also trains at Wythenshawe Park and SportCity in the Manchester Regional Arena. History The origins of the club began when a Sale Harriers club was formed during 1891. The club were refounded in 1910 during a joint meeting at the Temperance Rooms in Cross Street and gained affiliation with the East Lancashire Association on 30 September 1911. In 1923 the club used the Moss Lane ground of Altrincham F.C. for their first track events and in the early 1950s, the Sale Borough Council made a rental agreement for land at Crossford Bridge. The first Olympian connected to the club was Steve Hollings who raced in the 3,000 metres steeplechase at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Diane Modahl
Diane Dolores Modahl (née Edwards, born 17 June 1966) is an English former middle-distance runner who specialised in the 800 metres. She won a gold medal in the 800 m at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, silver at the 1986 Commonwealth Games, and bronze at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. She finished third at the 1989 IAAF Grand Prix Final, fourth at the 1993 World Championships, and won the European Cup in 1994. She has also won six AAAs National 800 m titles. Kate Dennison
Kate Rooney (born Kate Dennison, 7 May 1984) is an English pole vaulter. She is a former British record holder both indoors and out, before both of her records were surpassed by Holly Bleasdale in 2011. Born in Durban, South Africa, Rooney came from a sporting family and moved to Alsager, England, when she was four years old. She first became interested in athletics through gymnastics. Rooney was selected to compete at national and international levels, finishing fourth in the British Championships, but did not feel passionate about the sport and changed to pole vault in 2000. Philippa Roles
Philippa Kate Roles (1 March 1978 – 21 May 2017) was a Welsh discus thrower who competed at two Olympic and four Commonwealth Games. Roles was British junior athlete of the year – an honour presented at Buckingham Palace. She was the first British discus thrower to medal at junior European level; and narrowly missed out on a medal at under 23 level, finishing 4th. She competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Lorraine Amanda Shaw (born 2 April 1968) is an English hammer thrower who competed at two Olympic Games. Biography Shaw's personal best throw, and the previous British record, is 68.93 metres, achieved in June 2003 in Loughborough. Keri Lees (née Maddox; born 4 July 1972) is a female English retired athlete who competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics as well as three World Championships (1993, 1999, 2001). She competed in the 100 metres hurdles and 400 metres hurdles. Biography r Maddox became the British 400 metres hurdles champion after winning the British AAA Championships title at the 1997 AAA Championships. Allyn Condon
Allyn Condon (born 24 August 1974) is an English former sprinter and bobsleigher. At the Vancouver Olympic Games in 2010 he became the seventh person to have competed for Great Britain in both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games having already competed in the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Career Athletics Condon has been coached by his father Morris Condon since the age of 10 years.
