Saldus Municipality (2021–present)
Saldus Municipality () is a municipality in Courland, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2021 by Merger (politics), merging the former Saldus Municipality (2009–2021), Saldus Municipality and Brocēni Municipality. Its centre is the town of Saldus. It contains 19 parishes and 2 towns/cities - Saldus and Brocēni. The population in 2021 was 27,110. The municipality has an international partnership with Bakhmut urban hromada in Ukraine. It borders Lithuania. History The municipality, previously a part of Kuldīga county, was first created during the Occupation of the Baltic states, Soviet occupation of Latvia in 1949 as ''Saldus district''. The district was divided up during the administrative-territorial reform in 2009 into Brocēni Municipality and Saldus Municipality (2009–2021), Saldus Municipality. Latvian Green Party
The Latvian Green Party (, LZP) is a green conservative political party in Latvia. Founded in 1990, the party was a member of the European Green Party from 2003 until its expulsion in 2019. Šķēde Parish
Šķēde is a suburban settlement near Liepāja, Latvia, in Medze Parish, South Kurzeme Municipality. It is located on the north border of the city. Šķēde was the biggest dacha cooperative in Latvia in the time of the Latvian SSR. One of Šķēde's notable features is its street names, which are known as "lines" and numbered from 1 to 18.
