Šalata
Šalata () is an upper-class residential neighborhood in Zagreb, Croatia. It is administratively part of the Gornji Grad - Medveščak city district in the northern part of Zagreb and it has a population of 1,929. Šalata houses the Šalata Sport and Recreation Center (''ŠRC Šalata'') and the University Hospital Centre Zagreb (''KBC Zagreb''). The neighborhood is located east of Medveščak Road, the main thoroughfare of its parent city district, on the gentle slopes of the Medvednica. Due to its hilly nature, Šalata is approximately above downtown Zagreb. The residents of Šalata are close to almost all major events outside the neighborhoods due to their proximity to both the old city cores of Gornji Grad and Kaptol, and the current center, Donji Grad. Achille Salata
Achille Salata was a 19th-century Italian sculptor. He was born in Mirandola and lived in Milan. In 1880, he exhibited at the fourth National Exposition of Fine Arts in Turin: ''La pesca galante'' (bronze), ''Young Shakespeare'' (marble), and ''Portrait of the Mother'' (marble). The latter was also exhibited the next year at the Exposition of Milan. In the 1883 Milan exposition, he exhibited three bronzes: ''The indiscretion'', ''Lo spavaldo'', and ''The sweetness''; and two terra cotta ''La Massaia'' and ''La questua''. He also exhibited in the 1883 Rome Exposition of Fine Arts, the statues ''La Merveilleuse'' and ''Lo spavento''. Andrew J. Salata (July 11, 1900 – July 1983) was a professional football player-coach with the Orange Tornadoes and later the Newark Tornadoes, of the National Football League. Kornel Saláta
Kornel Saláta (; hu, Saláta Kornél; born 24 January 1985) is a Slovak professional football who plays as a centre-back for MSO Štúrovo. Club career Saláta made his Corgoň Liga debut in the 2005–06 season for Matador Púchov. After season Púchov relegated to the Slovak First League and Saláta signed for Artmedia Petržalka. There he won the Corgoň Liga and the Slovak Cup in the 2007–08 season. In summer 2009, he moved to Slovan Bratislava, playing first match in the 2009 Slovak Super Cup. In January 2011, he signed four-year contract for Russian club Rostov for €1 million as one of the best Corgoň Liga defenders. Saláta left Rostov in August 2014. Paul Salata
Paul Thomas Salata (October 17, 1926 – October 16, 2021) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL), All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and Western Interprovincial Football Union (WIFU). He was born to a Serbian-born father and second generation Serbian-American mother. After his college football days at USC Salata played for the AAFC/NFL's San Francisco 49ers (1949–1950) and the AAFC's Baltimore Colts (1950). After the Colts franchise folded in 1950 he was declared draft-eligible and was subsequently drafted in the tenth round of the 1951 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He scored the 49ers final touchdown in the All-American Football Conference, as well as the team's first TD in NFL.
