Studio Misr
Studio Misr (Eng: "Egypt Studio"), also known as Studios Misr, is a film studio established in Giza, Egypt, in 1935 by the economist Talaat Harb. Owned and staffed by Egyptians, it is known as "The Studio of Egypt". For three decades, it was the Egyptian equivalent to Hollywood's major studios. Naguib El-Rihani
Naguib el-Rihani (; January 21, 1889 in Cairo – June 8, 1949 in Alexandria) was an Egyptian film and stage actor. Biography Born in Bab El Shereya, Cairo to a middle class family. His father, an Assyrian Christian who worked as a horse expert and a trader, his mother was a Coptic Egyptian woman from Cairo. He was one of three sons that his parents would have together. He was educated in the French Catholic school "Les Frères" in Cairo. El-Rihani had a turbulent marriage with Badia Masabni, an actress and businesswoman who settled in Cairo after living within the United States for years, and established her famous cabaret, "Casino Badia." They separated before his death. He died at the age of 60 years in Cairo of typhus, while filming his last film, " Ghazal Al Banat". Hussein Mohamed Shafiq (, more commonly known by his stage name Hussein Riad (, (1897–1965)) was an Egyptian actor, who mainly played "dad roles". His career spanned about 46 years and he appeared in approximately 320 films, 240 theater plays, and 150 radio and 50 TV plays. Early life Riad was born Hussein Mohamed Shafiq () in 1897 in the Al-Sayeda Zaynab district of Cairo, Egypt, to an Egyptian father and a Syrian mom. He later changed his name to Hussein Riad. His brother was into acting too, he was the artist Mohamed Fouad (known by his stage name Fouad Shafiq). In 1916, he quit school to start acting and joined the Arab Acting Institute. Niazi Mostafa () was an Egyptian film director. Mostafa was born on 11 November 1911 in the city of Asyut, Khedivate of Egypt to a Sudanese father and Turkish mother. Mostafa would complete his university studies in Germany and joined the German Film Institute, he then returned to Egypt to work as an editor at Studio Misr. Egyptian Cinema Egyptian movie critic Samīr Farīd wrote that Mostafa was one of "The most important directors in the history of Egyptian cinema". Sallama (; ) is a Bedouin village in northern Israel. Located in the Galilee near the Tzalmon Stream, it falls under the jurisdiction of Misgav Regional Council. In its population was . The village was recognized by the state in 1976. History Sallama has been identified as the site of the village of Selamin (Salmon or Tselamon) in the Roman Province of Galilee.
