Salahuddin Shishani
Giorgi Kushtanashvili (? December 2017), later known as Feyzullah Margoshvili, and commonly known by his ''nom de guerre'' Salahuddin Shishani, was one of the Chechen mujahideen in Syria. He was briefly the head of Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar and later headed Jaysh Usrah in Syria until his death in December 2017. Early life Shishani was born Giorgi Kushtanashvili, though he changed his name to Feyzullah Margoshvili and later took up the nom de guerre Salahuddin Shishani. Militant activities He "fought alongside" Ruslan Gelayev during the wars in Chechnya. He participated in the 2001 Kodori crisis. He was involved in a July 2002 battle with Russian forces in Itum-Kalinsky District, Russia after a group of militants had crossed the Russian-Georgian border, in which eight "Russian soldiers were killed" and seven "wounded." Ruslan Gelayev
Ruslan Germanovich Gelayev (; ; 16 April 1964 – 28 February 2004) was a Chechen military commander and prominent military figure of the Chechen resistance against Russia. Albeit a controversial figure, Gelayev was commonly viewed as an ''abrek'' and a well-respected, ruthless fighter. His operations spread well beyond the borders of Chechnya and even outside Russia and into Georgia. He was killed while leading a raid into the Russian Republic of Dagestan in 2004. Kerim Bilyalov (1974 December 2024), commonly known by his ''nom de guerre'' Abdul Karim Krymsky, was a Crimean Tatar who served as the deputy emir of Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar and was the head of a Crimean jamaat. Life Krymsky was born Kerim Bilyalov and took up the nom de guerre Abdul Karim Krymsky. He was first seen in Syria in May 2013. He served as a deputy to Salahuddin Shishani in Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar (JMWA), until they were reportedly replaced in June 2015 with the assistance of Al-Nusra Front.
